He has a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Penn State, a master’s degree in educational leadership from Beaver College (now Arcadia University) and a doctoral degree in educational leadership and superintendent’s letter of eligibility from Nova Southeastern University. He began his career in education as a science teacher in the Bristol Township School District, where he worked for five years. Hey became the director of human resources in 2010. Hey began his career at Souderton in 2001, serving as the acting principal of Souderton Area High School for nine years. Hey will continue to serve in his current role as director of human resources. He replaces Frank Gallagher, who was recently named superintendent. Chris Hey was appointed assistant superintendent for the Souderton Area School District, effective July 1.
